He noted that the government recognised the private sector as a key partner towards achieving economic growth and that the government through the assembly was ready to partner private entities towards the progress of the nation.

Business forum

Mr Kojo Otoo said this when he addressed a business forum organised by the district assembly at Buduburam to inform the business community on the numerous business opportunities available in the district which they can take advantage of.

The objective of the business engagement was to demystify the perception of the public over the years that the assembly was only interested in collecting taxes from businesses operating in the district without having their interest at heart.

Again, it was intended to stimulate local economic activity by harnessing the potential of the assembly by the business community in order to facilitate the growth and development of the district.

He said the assembly had removed all the bottlenecks and impediments that prevented the private businesses adding that “the assembly has created a safe haven for the private sector to flourish”.

“I, therefore, extend the warmest invitation to investors and private firms to come and invest heavily in the district to propel its growth,” he pointed out.
