The late Adams Mahahma

Upper West NDC consoles NPP, Adams’s family

The Upper West Regional (UWR) branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sent a message of condolence to the bereaved family of the Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adams Mahama, who died after he was doused with acid by some unknown assailants in Bolgatanga last Thursday.

The branch has also sent a message to the NPP in general for the untimely death of their regional chairman, who was buried last Saturday.

In the message, the UWR NDC Party Organiser, Mr Adams Mengu Issahaq, expressed shock that politics should be reduced to such violence and lawlessness.

He wondered how the NPP, which had always described itself as a democratic party, could be reduced to such level of intolerance.

He consoled the bereaved family and the party in general and expressed the hope that there would be the end of such violence.

“While we condemn that act totally, we wish to see the race to the 2016 as a peaceful contest devoid of such brutalities and violence,” he stated.

Turning to the NDC party, he said they were working in unity towards an overwhelming victory in the 2016 general election.

He said they hoped to maintain all the 11 seats in the parliamentary elections since there was no orphan constituency in the UWR.

Mr Issahaq said they hoped to achieve a 57 per cent victory during the presidential election in the region, and added that in their party the doors were opened to all those who wanted to contest the primaries, with every member having an equal chance in the party.

“There is no discrimination and that is why the NDC party is unique,” he said.

He emphasised that they were operating their strategies of all-hands-on-deck for the vehicle to move to victory, come 2016.
