Ghanaians and the international community will today, February 27, 2025, turn their attention to Parliament in Accra as President John Dramani Mahama delivers his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) in his historic second term.

The address, a constitutional requirement under Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, is expected to highlight the true state of affairs in key sectors of the economy, the challenges inherited, and the government’s roadmap for recovery and transformation.

President Mahama is anticipated to focus on critical national issues, including economic revival, job creation under the 24-hour economy initiative, the future of education reforms, healthcare infrastructure, and ongoing negotiations with international development partners such as the IMF and World Bank. He is also expected to touch on pressing concerns such as corruption investigations, unemployment, and electricity supply shortages.
