Western Region NPP Chair declares support for Bawumia

The Western Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Ndede Nsia, has declared support for former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2028 general elections.

Speaking at Amenfi to welcome Dr Bawumia at the start of his regional campaign tour, Mr Nsia said the Western Region would be part of the winning team as the former Vice President continues to campaign across the country.

“On behalf of my people, I warmly welcome you here and want to state that the Western Region is going to be part of the winning team. We want to uplift Dr Bawumia and give him a resounding victory,” he declared.

Mr Nsia commended Dr Bawumia for maintaining a clean and issue-based campaign despite persistent attacks and misinformation from his opponents. He described the former Vice President’s composure and discipline as a mark of true leadership that inspires confidence among party members and supporters.

“It is unfortunate that lies and propaganda are taking centre stage in this campaign against one man,” he said. “But the good thing is that he is not perturbed and has concentrated on his campaign by not responding to them. This has also encouraged us to remain focused on campaigning for him to win.”

The regional chairman further urged Dr Bawumia to remain steadfast and continue focusing on his message of unity, economic transformation, and grassroots empowerment. “We appreciate this and we want to urge you to continue to stay focused,” he added.

Dr Bawumia concluded his campaign tour of the Western Region on Sunday with a rally in Sekondi, where he was greeted by jubilant delegates and enthusiastic party supporters.

Throughout his visit, he received widespread endorsements from constituency executives and grassroots members who praised his leadership, humility, and vision for Ghana’s development.

Dr Bawumia is seeking to lead the NPP into the 2028 elections following his 2024 presidential bid. His campaign has so far focused on policies promoting inclusive growth, digital transformation, and empowerment of local party structures.
