When Justice Sophia Akuffo met the Appointments Committee of Parliament (photos)
The Appointments Committee of Parliament Friday vetted the Chief Justice (CJ) nominee, Sophia Akuffo. The vetting which lasted for several hours was attended by members of the Supreme Court,some ministers of state, family members and friends.
The 26-member committee chaired by Mr Joseph Osei Owusu dug into her background to determine her preparedness to head the third arm of government.
Ms Akuffo takes over from Mrs Justice Georgina Theodora Wood, who retired on June 8, 2017, after 10 years as Chief Justice and 47 years of public service.
