Your efforts will never be forgotten - Bryan Acheampong tells NPP women’s wing

A flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has reassured women within the party that they will no longer be sidelined or overlooked as the party intensifies efforts to return to power in 2028.

Addressing NPP women executives during a two-day engagement in the Eastern Region last weekend, the Abetifi MP promised to run a political agenda that guarantees women a permanent seat at the decision-making table.

“I want to make this clear: the women of our party, and the women of Ghana, will not be forgotten. You will be at the very core of our political and development agenda,” Dr. Acheampong said.

The gathering provided a platform for women to raise their concerns about party organisation, resourcing, and recognition. In response, Dr. Acheampong assured them that his leadership would deliver concrete interventions to strengthen the women’s wing and make it more influential in shaping party direction.

He emphasised that rebuilding the NPP requires recognising the sacrifices women have made over decades, noting that from mobilising voters to sustaining campaign activities in communities, women have always been the hidden strength behind electoral victories.

“For too long, women’s contributions have been taken for granted. But the future we are building will ensure that women are not only recognised but empowered with the resources and authority to lead from the front,” he said.

Dr. Acheampong also appealed to the women executives to see themselves as active partners in the NPP’s journey toward 2028, urging them to continue mobilising across constituencies while assuring them of his personal support.

The women leaders welcomed his message warmly, describing it as a long-overdue recognition of their value. Several of them commended his clarity of vision and his willingness to engage them directly, saying it demonstrated a new style of leadership the party urgently needs.

The event ended with calls for unity and inclusiveness, with Dr. Acheampong reaffirming that no rebuilding process can succeed if women remain on the margins. He pledged that under his vision for the NPP, women would be at the forefront, shaping both the party’s renewal and Ghana’s transformation.
