Alhaji Gruzah: Faisal will be competitive when Premier League returns
The technical team of King Faisal has started building a formidable team that will make it very competitive when the 2020/ 2021 football season gets underway.
Faisal are preparing to start a pre-season training as soon as possible to fine-tune their preparation for the Ghana Premier League which is expected to start in November.
The founder and bankroller of King Faisal, Alhaji Karim Gruzah, told Graphic Sports Online that with preparations being put in place by the technical team, the players would be in top form to hit the ground running when the competition starts .
On Sunday, September 20, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo announced that the Ghana Premier and the Division One leagues which were suspended alongside other contact sports midway in March this year as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic which hit the country would bounce back into action on Friday, October 30, 2020.
''With respect to football, after due consultations with the Ghana Football Association, it has been decided that the Ghana Premier League and the Division One Football League will restart on Friday, October 30, with a full regime of testing of the players, technical and management staff," the President stated.
''No spectators will be allowed at the training centres, and, when actual competition resumes, seating at all stadia will be limited to 25 per cent capacity to ensure social distancing," The President explained
Reacting to the return of contact sports after six months suspension, Alhaji Gruzah said his team started recruiting quality players during the suspension of football activities.
The Kumasi based club were rooted at the bottom of the league log at the time of the suspension of the league.
However, to Alhaji Gruzah, the technical team would make a few additions to transform King Faisal into a formidable team capable of making the league very competitive when the Premier League resumed.
“ We are ready for the league because we would start pre- season training very soon to keep the players in good shape for the start of the league. However, we will add a few players to those we recruited to make King Faisal very formidable, so there is no cause for alarm,” Alhaji Gruzah assured.
He urged all fans of the club to offer the requisite support to players and technical team to galvanise them to offer their best to keep the club afloat when the Premier League resumed.
