Black Stars to wear black armband in honour of late Jerry Rawlings

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has granted Ghana’s request to wear a black armband and observe a minute silence in Thursday’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan in Cape Coast.
This is in honour of Ghana’s 1st President of the 4th Republic, His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings, who passed on Thursday morning, at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
The Black Stars are expected to put up a splendid performance against Sudan in their third match of the qualifiers on home soil before traveling to lock horns in the return leg.

The Black Stars defeated South Africa 2-0 at home before traveling to Sao Tome to beat them 1-0.
Ghana leads Group C with six points in two matches having defeated South Africa and Sao Tome.
