Eddie Ansah takes over Bechem United after Portuguese Zacharias has been put on ice
Coach Edward Ansah, has been handed the coaching responsibility of Bechem United until the Premier League side resolved their differences with Coach Manuel Zacharias.
Zacharias has been suspended until further notice after Bechem claimed it could not put up with the coache’s demands to travel with his Guinean girlfriend on the team’s bus to the various match venues against management’s advice.
Sources close to the club told the Graphic Sports in an interview yesterday that Coach Ansah would be given the caretaker role while the team identified ways of dealing with the Portuguese trainer.
The source could not indicate when the coach was scheduled to return but only stated “He could either return before the next game or even after the season because he is on indefinite suspension”.
Initially, the club wanted to keep this secret but we could not handle it very well and unfortunately, it leaked to the public.
But we can confirm that Ansah would be in charge of the club for this weekend game”, he added.
Meanwhile, the source disclosed that management would meet to take a decision on the fate of the Portuguese coach even though sacking him would not be an option for now.
