It looks like Hasaacas, Ampem Darkoa for women’s league final

With only the final matches to be played to end this season's National Women's League (NWL), it looks like defending champions, Sekondi Hasacas and last season's finalists, Ampem Darkoa are on course to clash again.

The two sides picked valuable three points on Match Day 13 to stretch their lead and possibly book their champions play-off date on September 4.

Ampem Darkoa's 2-1 win over Ashtown at the Ohene Ameyaw Park helped them to consolidate their lead in the northern zone with 29 points, three clear ahead of second-placed Northern Ladies who beat Prisons Ladies 2-1.

The loss to Northern Ladies cost Prisons second place after Ashtown's slip, allowing the NWL debutantes to snatch second place.

Despite having the advantage of playing last Monday when the other results were known, Hasaacas kept their feet on the pedal with a convincing 4-0 win over Samaria Ladies to almost wrap up a successive fourth final berth with 27 points.

However, there could be an interesting end to the season as Police Ladies strongly breathe at the back of the necks of Hasaacas having beaten LadyStrikers 3-1 to maintain their second place.

Soccer Intellectuals, hoping to reclaim the second spot were left stranded as Halifax beat them 1-0 while Immigration Ladies were also left frustrated with a 0-1 loss to Bafana Ladies at Elmina.

In the other matches, Lepo Ladies won 3-0 over relegation-bound Subayo Ladies while Fabulous Ladies failed to show up for their away game against Real Upper Ladies.
