Kotoko search for CEO

For the first time in the history of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is to be advertised, as the Manhyia Palace hints of sweeping changes in the management structure of club.

This came up when the board members met the Asantehene at the Manhyia Palace last Friday.

A source close to the meeting told the Graphic Sports that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is also the Life Patron of the club, mentioned that the CEO position would become a full-time job.

That means the position of executive chairman has been scrapped from the club.

Consequently, the King would soon direct the advertisement to be made to enable interested persons apply.

The Asantehene also disclosed that a novelty Congress would be constituted as part of the organogram.

According to the source, the Congress, which would become the highest decision-making body of the club, would consist of stakeholders such as the representatives of the Asantehene, the board chairman, and the supporters representatives, among others.

That means on top of the organogram would be the Life Patron, as the owner of the club, followed by the congress, the board, management and supporters union.

The source said the Asantehene further hinted that the board would be reconstituted.

In the interim, Otumfuo Osei Tutu asked three board members, Mr Jerry Asare, Alhaji Lamin and Alhaji Ahmed Bandoh to team up with Mr Samuel Opoku Nti to oversee the recruitment of new players for the club.
