17 coaches presented with certificates
The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has presented Level 1 Coaches Education Certificates (CEC) to 17 out of the 24 participants after they underwent an 11-day training programme.
Following the training programme, the coaches are supposed to support the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to unearth and groom talents to compete in major international athletic competitions.

Presenting the certificates, the President of the GOC, Professor Francis Dodoo, said the future of Ghanaian athletics could be secured if the nation continued to produce more certified athletics coaches.
He gave the assurance that his outfit will continue to support the training of local athletics coaches, in order to build their capacity.
“The GOC and GAA will continue to create opportunities for coaches to be trained because it is a much bigger bottleneck than the lack of athletics facilities” he assured
This, he said, would enable them to attain the CEC Level 2 certificates.
