Speaking to Daily Graphic in an interview, he said the rumours  that the Porcupine Warriors had decided to pull out of the international competition was an attempt to prevent  individuals and organisations  from supporting the club financially,  to enable them to prepare for the competition.

“ If we decide not to participate in the African Clubs Champions League, our first port of call will be  the Ghana Football Association(GFA). Professionally, we will officially write to inform the FA about our decision but not resort to the  social media as is being speculated around the country. We don’t deal with any social media, but deal directly with the GFA. So I wonder why some people can concoct  such stories and put them  in the social media. The news is never true, but  a form of propaganda meant to deny us financial support from individuals and organisations willing to  help us  participate in such a prestigious competition. On how the team was preparing for Africa at a time the league was yet to start, he said Kotoko had outlined a number of friendly matches. According to the Kotoko Chief Executive, the team will play a friendly match with Sekondi Eleven Wise on Saturday and play Tarkwa United on Sunday.
