US-based Ghanaian taekwondo athlete, David Koney Adjetey, says he is poised to win medal at the upcoming World Championship in Russia next month.

After missing out on the medal podium at the 2013 World Taekwondo Championship in Puebla, Mexico, Adjetey told the Graphic Sports that he was working hard to improve on his performance at last year’s games.
The 31-year-old said, "I know with hard work, I will not return home empty handed. I am a strong believer in hard work and so I am working very hard and as at now I have two world class coaches and a psychologist who are preparing me for the competition.
Adjetey, who has won 48 international medals in the sport, said his bane had always been lack of funds, adding, “ I am looking forward to the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) to seek sponsorship to finance my participation at the championship.”
