Amenyo’s crown under threat in Lipton Golf

The apostle of Ghana golf, Peter Amenyo, is under pressure to become the first golfer to win the bi-monthly Lipton competition back-to-back as final leg of this year’s event tee-off on Saturday at the Tema Country Golf Course.

Amenyo has hit an incredible form, dishing out some scintillating performances including the recently-held MTN CEO’s Invitational Golf competition at Tafo.

He was one of the winners at the Tafo event and could face off with the eventual winner, Vincent Atila, for a possible showdown.

The one-day 18-hole scratch and handicap competition is expected to feature crack golfers including sensational Owusu E. K.

Owusu, one of the favourites to unseat Amenyo, has intensified his training for the big day.

The Manager of the Tema Country Golf Club, Nicholas Amoah, told the Daily Graphic the event would be more of a celebration than a competition.

“All the big names in the sport will be around and the prizes will be great as well. It will bring down the curtains on the year’s activity for the club,” Mr Amoah said.
