Another injury worry for Gyan

Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan and his Chinese club, SIPG Shanghai, face an anxious 48 hours as the striker undergoes test to determine the scope of his latest injury which saw him being taken out of their game.

While awaiting the results of the tests likely to be conducted today, SIPG have also been dethroned from the top of the league standings,as they were beaten 0-3 at home by Guangzhou Evergrande, now the occupants of the top spot of the Chinese Super League.

The Black Stars captain sat out of the team’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier away to Rwanda last week and was not expected to make a return to action until after two weeks.

However, he was in the starting line up for SIPG and after only 18 minutes, had to be taken off after aggravating the injury.His latest injury will be a source of concern given that his performance has been hindered by similar injuries.
