Gyan recalled to Black Stars for Sierra Leone AFCON qualifier

Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan has been handed a recall to the senior national team for the upcoming 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sierra Leone despite playing only 35 minutes of competitive football this season.

Gyan, Ghana's record scorer with an impressive 51 goals in 106 appearances returns to the Black Stars fold after being left out of last Month's disappointing 1-0 loss at Kenya in an African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

Gyan, 32, has been restricted to the role of substitute this season for his Turkish Super Lig club side Kayserispor after being dogged by injuries following his switch to Turkey in July last year.
