Yagoub, who joined from Hay Alwady of Sudan, is expected to replace Steven Mukwala who netted 14 times for Kotoko last season in the Ghana Premier League.
Esmat, who also joined Kotoko from Al Hilal, will feature in the squad as a left-back.
The duo become Kotoko's first recruits after an initiative to rebuild the team which saw them parting ways with about 20 players in the last few days.
It is understood Sudan coach Kwasi Appiah who is part of Kotoko's Interim Management Committee, made the recommendation.
Both players might make their debut against Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup on July, 17, 2024.
