Making their very first appearance at the tournament, Ghana lost in a nail-biting opener to Nigeria 7-5 before losing 5-2 to Beach Soccer World Cup quarter finalists, Senegal.

In their last game of the tournament, the Ghanaians suffered  a 9-4 setback against another World Cup team and the eventual Copa Lagos winners, Cote d’Iovire.

The competition was organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW).

Despite the defeats, Ghana's three performances against the continent’s best have been hailed by the event organisers as the most promising impact team in Africa this year.

member of BSWW, Amir Garannah, said the performances must be of huge encouragement to Ghana.

"I was in Morocco and saw Ghana for the first time and I have seen the team here in Lagos. I can confidently say that if this sort of improvement continues, Ghana will be one of the strongest teams in beach soccer from Africa",

Ghana’s beach soccer team is aiming at qualifying for the maiden Beach Soccer African Cup which is billed for Seychelles in April 2015.
