Bechem Park to host B.A. Unity Games

The four premiership clubs in the Brong Ahafo Region will participate in a novelty cup competition aimed at defusing the tension among their supporters.

Bechem United, B.A United, Bechem Chelsea and Aduana Stars will compete for honours in the competition dubbed the “B.A. Unity Cup Games”,  which starts on Saturday at the Bechem Park.

Initiator of the competition, Kingsley Owusu-Achau, told Daily Graphic that they intend to stamp out acrimony among the supporters in the region.

He said during matches among the regional teams, good football was usually relegated to the background and tension overrode sportsmanship.

As a result, he decided to create a competition aimed at ensuring that harmony was created among the Brong Ahafo fans during matches involving their clubs.

The two-day competition, to be hosted by Bechem United, will see the teams play each other in a league format with the winner being honoured.

Mr Achau, who is the CEO of Bechem United, said the games would also be used to unveil new players and officials of the clubs for the upcoming Premier League season.
