Black Optimists off to Cairo for Para World Cup

Ghana’s representatives in para powerlifting, the Black Optimists, left Accra to compete in the 2023 World Para Powerlifting World Cup in Cairo, Egypt.
They consist of two athletes, Tahiru Haruna and Isaac Obeng together with their coach, Frank Toulassi would be competing in the event slated for November 3-5.

The World Cup event forms part of the qualification for the Paris 2024 Paralympics Games.
Prior to their departure, Coach Toulassi, emphasised their determination to qualify at least seven athletes for the next Paralympics.
Ghana’s participation in the qualification programme was fully sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
