The hosts started the game on a fast note by mounting a lot of pressure on the Black Queens in the first quarter of the game thereby demanding extra effort in defence from the Queens.

Nora Häuptle’s side played out the greater part of the game with 10 women after Captain Portia Boakye was dismissed for a foul on attacker, Tanaka Mina.

Ghana's first venture forward ended with Doris Boaduwaa curling wide as dominance from the hosts continued.

Goalkeeper, Cynthia Konlan Findiib stood out as the heroine of the day after making a number of top class saves to deny the hosts on countless occasions.

A penalty area scramble that ensued following a Nagano free-kick from the right was eventually buried by Tanaka Mina on the 52nd minute to put the hosts in the lead.

Two quick goals on the 64th and 67th minutes from Hanata and Fujino Aoba weakened the valiant defence of Ghana before Japan added another goal on the 80th minute through Kitagawa.

The Black Queens kept giving their all but could not recover from the 4-goal deficit till the end of the game.

The match afforded the Technical team the opportunity to assess the team against top level opposition as the Black Queens get ready for upcoming international assignments.
