CAF Women's Champions League: Ampem Darkoa stun holders AS FAR in historic win
Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory against defending champions AS FAR Club in their opening Group B match of the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League played today, November 6, in Cote d’Ivoire.
AS FAR Club took the lead in just 13 minutes into the game after capitalising on a defensive blunder.

However, Comfort Yeboah scored the equaliser in the 56th minute and continued to pile pressure on the Moroccan giants which resulted in an own goal in the 62nd minute to seal the deal for the Ghanaians in their maiden appearance in the competition.
Ampem Darkoa created numerous scoring opportunities but were unable to break through the Moroccan defence during the first half.
After recess, Ampem Darkoa regained their momentum and heaped enormous pressure on the Moroccan side and created several scoring opportunities in the process.
It was during one of such attacks that Comfort Yeboah struck from outside the penalty box to beat the Moroccan goalkeeper and drew parity for the Ghanaians.
For her outstanding performance, Comfort Yeboah was adjudged Woman of the Match.
Ampem Darkoa will now face AS Mande on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at San Pedro in their second group game.
