Can All Stars hurt Techiman City’s pride?

After an exciting Super Clash last Monday between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko in Accra, the Premier League will witness another cracker of a relatively smaller magnitude as league leaders, Wa All Stars, play as guests of high-flying Techiman City at the Nana Ameyaw Park at Techiman on Sunday.

Wa All Stars saw their hegemony crumble again at the T&A Park at Tarkwa when they were beating 1-0 by Medeama, Ghana’s representative in the CAF Confederation Cup, Medeama, but that setback has not diluted their strength and their desire to break the Hearts-Kotoko duopoly in ghana football.

On the other hand, Techiman City’s performance at home have showed glimpses of a team with character as the  Nana Ameyaw Park often become a  waterloo for most visiting clubs.

Currently seventh on the league log, they are unbeaten in five matches at home, while the Wa lads have lost their last two games away.

Such is the pressure All Stars are feeling as another poor away showing could cost them the top spot, with second-placed Hearts breathing heavily down their neck and ready to reclaim the top position.

The game also pits All Stars coach, Anos Kwame Adipah, against Yusif Abubakar of Techiman City as they seek to guide their sides to victory.

All Stars will rely on Charles Kipo, Godfred Yeboah, Adams Hafiz, Samuel Azuma and Eric Mensah, while  players such as Baba Mahama Nicholas Mensah, Iddrisu Yahaya and Issaka Ibrahim will spearhead the plot by the home side.

Another interesting game will take place at Sogakope where West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) will seek to maintain their unbeaten home run as they host struggling Tema-based Inter Allies who are 15th on the log.

defending champions, Ashantigold, seek to bounce back strongly as they host  Bechem United at the Len Clay Stadium, where they have lost their last two home games against Hearts and Dreams FC.

In other matches, Hearts trek to the Golden City Park to settle scores with Berekum Chelsea who have a perfect home record after five matches, Sekondi Hasaacas will engage New Edubiase United at the Essipon Stadium, Kotoko are tipped to beat bottom club Ebusua Dwarfs at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Dreams FC face Aduana Stars in a tough showdown at Dormaa-Ahenkro.

The match between Liberty Professionals and Medeama at Dansoman has been postponed because of the latter’s continental assignment against South Africa’s Memelodi.
