The game, which had President John Dramani Mahama and the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Sun Baohong, as special guests, was used to test the facilities at the 16,000 capacity stadium.

Also in attendance were the Sports Minister, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, the GFA Executive Committee and officials of the Ghana League Clubs Association.

China scored again before Charles Boateng got the equaliser for Ghana.

Budding talent, Evans Mensah shot Ghana into the lead after the break when he struck from the edge of the penalty box, before the visitors drew level late in the game.

The new $ 33 million facility was constructed as a gift by the Chinese government, and is expected to host the finals of the 2016 MTN FA Cup, as well as Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.
