Coach Lamptey hails Ashia’s return
Coach George Lamptey of Liberty Professionals is delighted at the return of Kennedy Ashia, saying the signing of the former U-20 player is an inspiration to the team in their quest for a Top Four finish.
Ashia joined his boyhood club, Liberty ahead of the second round of the Premier League after his contract with Sudanese side, Al-Hilal Obdurman was terminated.
Coach Lamptey, who has grown fond of the 21-year-old, confirmed the signing in an interview with the Graphic Sports saying: "We have indeed, signed Ashia and we believe he would be an inspiration to the team".
"Lamptey always want to be with us and we are always ready to welcome him back to the club," he added.
He was confident Ashia would rediscover his form to help his side realise their dreams at the end of the campaign.
Ashia was a prime target for giants, Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko, during the second window of registration but be swerved both clubs to settle with his former club.
