Corbllah named coach of Karela United, Bediako takes charge at Young Apostles
Ghana Premier League side Karela United have announced the signing of Jimmy Corbllah as their head coach for the upcoming season, just a week after he parted ways with Accra Great Olympics.

Corbllah takes over from Abubakari Damba who had assumed the coaching role from Shaibu Tanko last February and successfully led the Tamale-based club to avoid relegation, securing a 12th-place finish in the league.
During his tenure at Olympics, Corbllah replaced veteran coach Daniel Annor Walker at the start of the second round of the 2023-24 season after a string of poor results. Despite his efforts, Olympics was relegated, prompting the board to dissolve the management and technical teams.
Upon signing a two-year contract with Karela, Corbllah expressed his excitement about the new challenge. "I'm thrilled to work with Karela United and eager to collaborate with the players and staff, who are well-regarded in the game, as well as the passionate supporters. I share the club's values and can't wait to get started," he said on the club's official X (formerly Twitter) page.
At 52, Corbllah brings a wealth of experience to Karela United, having previously managed King Faisal FC, Inter Allies, and the national under-20 male team, the Black Satellites, which reached the quarter-finals of the 2019 African Youth Championship.
Bediako takes charge
In other coaching news, promoted side Young Apostles FC have announced the appointment of experienced coach Joseph Asare Bediako as their new head coach for the upcoming season. The 65-year-old Bediako will be assisted by Abubakar Adams, who led the club to promotion as winners of the Access Bank Division One League (Zone 1).
Coach Bediako brings a wealth of experience to Young Apostles FC, having served as the assistant coach of Accra Hearts of Oak and the head coach of Aduana Stars. He also boasts a notable coaching stint in Cameroon.
Coach Bediako has already begun pre-season preparations with the Wenchi-based team ahead of the Division One League Super Cup competition. Young Apostles FC will compete in Group A alongside New Edubiase United, Okwawu United and Hohoe United.

In preparation for the new season, renovation works are ongoing to upgrade the Wenchi Town Park to meet the Ghana Football Association's club licensing requirements. This upgrade will allow the park to serve as the home grounds for Young Apostles FC for the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League season, which starts on September 6.
