JL Properties supports Oguaa Fetu Afahye boxing

In a spirited move to bolster youth development in Cape Coast, Dr James Orleans-Lindsay, Executive Chairman and CEO of JL Properties Company Ltd, has pledged his support for this year's Oguaa Fetu Afahye celebration in September.

This initiative aligns with Dr Orleans-Lindsay’s enduring commitment to nurturing young talents in the Cape Coast Metropolis and beyond.

The Oguaa Fetu Afahye, an annual festival that brings the community together in celebration, will be further enriched this year by the inclusion of a special regional boxing competition.

Dr Orleans-Lindsay, a proud native of Cape Coast and the Chief Patron of the Cape Coast Youth Development Association, reiterated his dedication to sports and youth empowerment during a courtesy call by the Central Region Boxing Federation and the Cape Coast Youth Development Association.

The delegation, led by Francis Kingsley Arthur, Vice President of the Central Regional 

Boxing Federation, presented Dr Orleans-Lindsay with a Ghana Boxing Federation-branded T-shirt and cap, to formally invite him to the event.

The meeting was graced by key figures including Akosua Pomaah Abebrese, Executive Assistant to Dr Orleans-Lindsay; Rev. Kobina Spio-Garbrah, Cole Arthur, both members of the Cape Coast Youth Development Association, and boxing trainer, Nana Benya Bee.

Mr Arthur also appealed to other companies and individuals to support the boxing competition, emphasising the collective effort needed to make the event successful and memorable.

Boxing bonanza

This year's Oguaa Fetu Afahye will be electrified by a special regional boxing competition featuring participants from Central, Greater Accra, Volta, and Western regions.

Organised by the Central Regional Boxing Federation under the auspices of the National Sports Authority (NSA) and in partnership with the Cape Coast Youth Development Association, the competition would showcase female and juvenile boxers aged five to eight years, alongside male boxers.

The event has received the endorsement of the Afahye Planning Committee of the Oguaa Traditional Council, ensuring it is a highlight of the Fetu Afahye festivities.
