Cycling: First Lady endorses HFC-Infanta tour

The First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has endorsed the HFC-Infanta Ride Out Malaria Tour which is aimed at creating awareness of a cleaner Ghana and raising funds towards the building of a Community-based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound at Nyanshegu, a suburb of Tamale, Northern Region.

At a short briefing last Thursday, the First Lady was pleased with the plans and preparations made towards the cycling event which will see cyclists ride a 668-kilometre tour from Tamale to Accra on September 15- 23.

According to the organisers, HFC Bank and the Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation, the cycling tour was expected to commence on September 15 in Tamale and end in Accra on September 23.

Addressing the briefing, Mrs Akufo-Addo lauded the initiative by the organisers who are in partnership with the Velocity and the Chain Gang cycling groups and urged Ghanaians to support a worthy cause of eradicating the spread of malaria.
