Dreams FC to bounce back. Assures coach Akonnor

Dreams FC head coach, Charles Kwabla Akonnor, has given an assurance that his team will bounce back strongly in the Premier League and hinted also that he would reshuffle the playing body when they face Sekondi Hasaacas at the Dawu Park on Sunday.

According to the former Ghana international, following the team’s two straight losses to Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea a fortnight ago, it became absolutely necessary to make changes in the team to return Dreams FC to winning ways.

He indicated that some big names would be missing on the team sheet on Sunday as he intended to push more strikers to play an attacking game.

“There will be a bit of variations in the team to see how things will work because I realise there were issues with scoring goals. That does not mean I will change the entire team but I intend to make changes that will help us win matches,” he told the Graphic Sports on phone yesterday.

Hasaacas, lying 13th on the league log, are yet to win away this season, while Akonnor’s side have lost one home game in four matches.

Similarly, Ashantigold coach Bashir Hayford believes his side would bounced back from last Sunday’s 1-2 defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak at the Len Clay Stadium but face a tricky away clash with Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast.

New Edubiase United will draw inspiration from their stunning 1-0 win over Kotoko in Kumasi for their second straight victory against visiting Berekum Chelsea in another mouth-watering fixture at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi.

Bechem United and WAFA will battle it out at the Nana Gyeabour Park at Bechem, Techiman City will trek to the Tema Stadium to encounter struggling Inter Allies who lie in 15th place on the league log, while all eyes will be on the league’s leading marksman Latif Blessing, as he leads Liberty Professionals’ bid to make it five wins out of five home games against Aduana Stars at Dansoman.

At the T&A Park at Tarkwa, Medeama FC would hope to improve their form when they host league leaders Wa All Stars.

On Monday, traditional giants Hearts and Kotoko will renew their intense rivalry when they clash at the Accra Sports Stadium in the 103rd league encounter between the two sides.
