Egypt crowned champions of Africa AirBadminton Championships 2025

Egypt emerged as champions of the 2025 Africa AirBadminton Championships, clinching gold in the Team Relay event held at Laboma Beach in Accra, Ghana on Sunday, July 6.

In a thrilling final, Egypt defeated Nigeria 60–46 to secure the title. Although closely contested, Egypt’s superior skill and tactical execution ultimately proved decisive, earning them the top spot on the podium. Mauritius won bronze.

Spectators were treated to a high-energy display as both teams battled fiercely, highlighting the fast-paced and engaging nature of AirBadminton.

Egypt’s victory not only marks a major continental triumph but also guarantees them a place at the inaugural Badminton World Federation (BWF) AirBadminton World Cup, scheduled for December 11–14, 2025, in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. As runners-up, Nigeria also secured qualification for the global event.

The World Cup is expected to bring together the best AirBadminton teams from across the globe in what promises to be a showcase of athleticism, teamwork, and innovation.

Celebration of African talent

The 2025 Africa AirBadminton Championships were hailed as a resounding success, shining a spotlight on the depth of talent across the continent.

The event featured approximately 108 athletes from 11 countries, competing across multiple categories including Team Relay, Women’s Triples, and Men’s Triples.
