Kumasi asante Kotoko will attempt to establish their supremacy as the giant of Ghana football when they travel to the Cam Park in aiyinase tomorrow to battle Basake Holy stars in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

After securing a 1-0 victory over FC Samartex last weekend, Kotoko now sits in second place on the table with 14 points, just one point behind leaders BibianiGoldStars.

The team is eager to build on this momentum to enhance their chances of winning the title. Striker Albert Amoah, who scored the decisive goal in the win against FC Samartex, is poised to lead the attack once again.

Head Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum in his post-match presser last weekend assured that players, including Elvis Kyei Baffour and Lord
Amoah, who sustained slight injuries during last Sunday’s game, would be fit for tomorrow’s game.

“As at the time I was coming for this presser I had no information about them but then I am sure they will be ready once they did not sustain serious injuries, I am sure the medical team is competent to manage them,” he said in response to a question.

Coach Ogum will enjoy the services of key players like goalkeeper Frederick Asare, Justice Blay, Douglas Owusu Ansah, Emmanuel Antwi, Andrews Ntim, Patrick Asiedu, Fernando Bassey and Michael Kyei Dwamena who will be eager to continue Kotoko’s momentum.

However, Basake Holy Stars, who have recorded four losses, two wins and a draw and are perched on the 13th position of the
league log with seven points, will be eager to ensure that Kotoko leave the CAM Park highly bruised.

Basake Holy Stars, still recovering from their 2-0 loss to Nsoatreman FC last weekend, will aim to elevate their performance against the Porcupine Warriors as they strive to make a strong impression in their debut season.

The newly-promoted side will look to draw inspiration from their 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak in their Matchday one fixture as they aim to upset Kotoko and halt their momentum this season.

Prince Tweneboah, whose goal secured that surprising win against Hearts, will be on the pitch to challenge the Kotoko
defence and help claim all three points by the end of the match.

Key players like Enis Boadi, Issah Yakubu, Emmanuel Adjei, Abubakar Adams, and goalkeeper Dubi Hassi Tayi are determined to ensure that Kotoko leaves without any points.

Other Matches

In other matches, Hearts of Oak will host league leaders Bibiani GoldStars at the University of Ghana Stadium, with both teams looking to secure a win to improve their standings.

A loss for GoldStars could allow Asante Kotoko to reclaim the top spot, while Hearts, currently in 9th place with nine points, aim to enhance their position on the table.

After a scoreless draw against Dreams FC last weekend, Hearts must go all out against GoldStars to secure a convincing victory. This
match will require that the Phobians find a way to counter GoldStars’ resurgence this season.
