Hearts’ Samudeen returns: Ready for Bechem Sunday

Accra Hearts of Oak’s midfield sensation, Samudeen Ibrahim, has been cleared to feature for the Phobians in their Premier League encounter against Bechem United at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday as the Phobians look for the opportunity to grab the summit of the table.

Samudeen, who suffered an injury three weeks ago in the Phobians’ opener against New Edubiase told the Graphic Sports on Thursday at the club’s training grounds that he was itching to be on the pitch because he had often felt uncomfortable any time he watched his colleagues from the sidelines.

The 2015 Division One League Most Valuable Player said he, together with his teammates, were well armed to give the fans a good show on Sunday.

“I’m feeling much better now and I will feature in Sunday’s game but I can’t tell whether I am starting or not. It is for the coach to decide whether to start me or bench me”, he said.

The 19-year-old budding star said he was not under pressure by the technical team or the anxious fans to see him back on the pitch, adding that he had been declared fit to play by the team’s physiotherapist, Otsere Baffuor, after a series of treatment.

For him, injuries are a part of football and, therefore, he is not worried that he was ruled out because of injury after featuring just once in the league.

“Injuries are normal and I sat out because of injury and not for any reason so I am not worried. The most important thing is that I’m back. Through hardwork and determination I believe that we will win the league because that’s our target. I will give of my best to help the club achieve our goals”, he added.

Samudeen emerged the best player in his debut and was confident Hearts would record a massive win against Bechem United and had promised to give the fans much to cheer about.
