Hearts to knock Aduana off top spot

Accra Hearts of Oak striker, Cosmos Dauda, has described today's Premier League clash with Aduana Stars in Accra as the determiner for their title challenge.

Dauda, who has endured a quiet campaign with Hearts this term, said the Phobians were keen on beating the league leaders today to throw the race for the title wide open, with just four games to end the season.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports, Dauda, 23, assured Hearts fans that he and his teammates were focused and prepared to bag all the three points.

"This match is really important for us because it will determine our fate in challenging for the league title but we are focused and prepared to beat Aduana Stars.

"It will be a difficult game for us with the kind of team Aduana possess but we are hopeful of a win today to open up the race for the title," he stressed.

The Phobians would close in on Aduana Stars at the top with victory at their favourite Accra Stadium and also avenge a painful 0-2 first round defeat.

After a narrow 2-1 win over Great Olympics last Sunday, Hearts seem to be in fine form, having won three of their last four league matches and could add Aduana to their victims today.

Aduana obviously face a tough away task in their quest to avoid defeat to the Phobians which could jeopardise their title chances.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will fight for a win as they travel to the Nduom Stadium at Elmina to play Elmina Sharks who also need the points badly.

The Porcupine Warriors believe they are still in contention for the title as they currently trail leaders Aduana Stars by eight points in fourth place and need a win to keep their title hopes alive, while Sharks target the top five.
Fellow title contenders, WAFA, will welcome relegation-threatened Great Olympics to the Red Bull Arena at Sogakope, quite confident of landing their first ever title in their history.
