I’m still Ashgold CEO — Fianoo

More than a month after Kudjoe Fianoo tendered his resignation, the board of the club insists he still remains their CEO in charge of the management of the Anglogold mining company’s football outfit.

Nana Ampofo-Bekoe, a member of the company’s board in charge of Sustainability, told the Graphic Sports on Tuesday that Fianoo’s resignation letter expected to take effect on June 3, was rejected as it breached the procedures in accordance with his engagement.

Fianoo tendered his resignation in the wake of mounting troubles triggered by acute financial difficulties which have continued to conspire against the fortunes of the club this season after winning the Premier League just last season.

But Nana Ampofo Bekoe disclosed that that resignation was rejected on the grounds that Fianoo did not follow the laid down procedure.

“Fianoo knows what is expected of him if he decides to resign and knew that he did not do that so we have not accepted his resignation and he, therefore, remains in charge for the moment,” he added.

Confirming the development, Fianoo disclosed on Tuesday that he still remained the CEO of the Miners as he has been asked to continue.

According to him the board reminded him that since his management board comprising Mr John Williams and Clement Donkoh were all given separate letters he could not take the decision to quit on their behalf.
