Ayew, 28, was handed a start by coach Phillip Cocu but was replaced in the closing seconds of the game by Alper Potuk.
He received a yellow card in the 35th minute.
Ayew later in a Tweet expressed delight at making his league debut adding that he was looking forward to his first league goal.
