Jaraah tips Black Challenge for success at Amputee Football Worl

Head coach of the national amputee football team, (Black Challenge), Ali Jaraah, says his team is well prepared to win a medal at the upcoming Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.

The team have been training at the Lizzy Sports Complex at East Legon as they aim to go past the quarter-finals berth they achieved in their previous two participations at the tournament.

Jaraah, a former Accra Hearts of Oak and Black Starlets goalkeeper, told the Graphic Sports his team was poised to put in a strong fight during the tournament and looked forward to a first medal in their third World Cup appearance.

"As a team, we are ready to fight to the last by making sure we go past the quarter-finals stage this time around, and with our preparations I believe we will come home with a medal," he said.

Meanwhile, the president of the Ghana Amputee Football Association (GAFA), Alex Tetteh, has backed Jaraah to make history by winning a medal for the first time in the nation's history.

He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their support, including a visit to the team’s training session at the Lizzy Complex by the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Vincent Oppong Asamoah.

Other corporate supporters of the team are Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and Ghana National Petroleum Authority (GNPA), Access Bank, Tullow Oil and Lizzy Sports Complex.
