The 23-year-old resident of Glasgow has been living in the city for the past 13 years while studying Sports Therapy at the University of Chichester.
He hopes to raise the interest of track cycling in Ghana through development programs and initiatives such as The Accra Velodrome Project and Gift A Bike Foundation.
His main goal is to assemble Ghana’s first track cycling team, ready for the 2016 Olympics and hopefully facilitate Ghana’s long-term involvement in the sport of track cycling around the world.
Jeddie, as he is known by his friends has managed to progress in cycling with the assistance of a small group of local businesses based in Glasgow, who have generously contributed in numerous stages of his career.
The Commonwealth Games are generally seen as a festival of sports and culture, with the athletes being exemplified as the personification of competitiveness and resilience.
While most share these characteristics, Ghana’s first track cyclist possesses a unique characteristic; through various circumstances, his resolve to participate in this year’s Games and a desire to positively contribute to his native country, through charitable projects and the development of the sport hasn’t wavered.
