‘Jordan must make tough Villa decision’

Former England and Liverpool striker, Emile Heskey, believes Black Stars striker, Jordan Ayew, will have to make the toughest choice of his young career when he decides whether to leave relegated Aston Villa.

The former Villa player, who was relegated with Birmingham City in the 2005/2006 English Premier League season, believes that The Championship (English second-tier) is not for everyone and Ayew will have to consult his family and representatives before making his choice.

"He is at a big club, I played at Villa and it is a big club but he has obviously got to look after himself and try to forward his own career and do what is right for himself," Heskey told the Graphic Sports in an interview after the Vodafone Unity Match last Saturday.

According to the 38-year-old Heskey, "Jordan has to sit down with his representatives, he has got megastar  father and family who he will have to sit down with. He must listen to their advice before deciding what to do.

"I got relegated with Birmingham and I moved to Wigan after, but what is a good move? You don't know until you make that move".

Jordan, 24, scored seven goals in 28 appearances for Villa last season after completing an £8 million move from French Ligue 1 side, Lorient.

Heskey, who is married to Ghanaian-born Chantelle Tagoe, also quashed any hopes of him signing for a Ghanaian club, explaining that he was too advanced in age.
