Kotoko sack Zdravko Logarusic after 11 matches

Former Ghana Premier League Champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has sacked 52-year-old Croatian trainer Zdravko Logarusic, after 11 matches in the ongoing campaign.

The board arrived at the decision after a stormy late night meeting in Kumasi last Sunday after the Logarusic's second home drawn game at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi against Ebusua Dwarfs.

Coach Logarusic's assistant and former player of the club, Godwin Ablordey will take a temporary charge of the club until a substantive helmsman is appointed.

In an audio message copied Graphic Online, the club's communications manager,  Obed Acheampong, said the two parted ways on a mutual grounds.

Despite helping the club to occupy the second spot in the 16-club league on 19 points, Logarusic's sack was anticipated after he was chased out of the Adako Jachie training grounds last Friday by irate fans.

He has been criticised for his uninspiring 3-5-2 system which many say is the main contributing factor to the team's sudden decline in performance.

Indeed, last Sunday's sack was a re-enactment of the coach's two previous engagements in Ghana with Kumasi-based King Faisal Babies and AshGold of Obuasi.

He is known to be a poor first round performer in the league in his two previous stints of which the media prompted the Kotoko management during Logarusic's unveiling four months ago in Kumasi but they played it down.

Angry fans nearly vented their spleen on the coach and the playing body last Sunday after the second home drawn game but for the swift intervention of the Asokwa police team.
