Late start of Premier League a headache—Herbalife
The management, technical team and players of Kumasi Asante Kotoko last Friday paid a courtesy call on one of the clubs sponsors, Herbalife Ghana Limited, at their office in Accra.
While taking the team on a tour of their offices, Country Director of Herbalife, Frederick Amissah described their association with the Porcupine Warriors as great for both parties.
He however, expressed concern about the team’s performance last year and urged them to improve upon it .
"Obviously we were not happy with the performance, but looking at the potentials of the current players and the brand that Kotoko represents, we know they can deliver in the future . We also believe the future holds well, and the fact that they are on our products will bring better success in the coming season. Mr Amissah noted.
He also expressed concern about the delay of the Premier League, saying, “the delay in the start of the 2015/2016 league season is a headache, not only to the teams, but all sponsors of Ghanaian football.
"I believe it is a big headache for both the team and the sponsors because we want a flawless calendar . But when it happens that administrative issues set the league back , it becomes a challenge, however, I believe the GFA is capable of solving the issues going forward."
The Operations Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, George Kennedy, expressed gratitude to Herbalife for catering for the nutritional needs of the team and added that their trust in Kotoko would be repaid with trophies this year.
Kotoko last March signed a two-year renewable non-financial sponsorship deal with Herbalife, as the official nutrition partner of the club.
