Legendary night boxing

African and Ghanaian boxing lovers, will on April 29, 2016, witness one of the most spectacular bouts in the history of Ghanaian boxing as Joseph King Kong Agbeko and Joshua “The Hitter” Clottey, two former world champions will be headlining the night with their opponents from Brazil and Philippines respectively.

The upcoming boxing event dubbed, “Legendary Night Boxing” scheduled for April 29, 2016, is produced and promoted by Fresh King Entertainment (F.K.E), Box Office Sports Promotions (B.O.S.) in partnership with SuperSports. For the first time in the history of Ghanaian boxing, two out of the seven world champions Ghana has ever produced will be mounting the same ring to fight their various opponents on the same night at the Accra Sports Stadium.

This historic night would also have the reigning WBA International Champion, Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe and George “Red Tiger” Ashie on the bill against boxers from South Africa and Brazil respectively, as well as other local rivalry fights to cap the event.

The fight will be produced and broadcast live by SuperSports on the DStv and GOtv networks to over 2.9 million viewers across Africa.

Joseph King Kong Agbeko is a former IBF bantamweight champion, who recently defeated Juanito Rubillar in the USA. In 2010, to honour Joseph’s exploits in the sport of boxing, the town of Sogakope in the Volta Region of Ghana enstooled him as a warrior chief. His enstoolment name was Togbe Kaletor I, which means ‘Brave Warrior’.

 

Joshua Clottey is an IBF welterweight champion, who recently beat former middleweight champion Anthony Mundine, dropping Mundine five times.
