A family source who confirmed the death to the Daily Graphic, said the family was shocked because ‘his death has been so sudden.’
His death adds to the concern over the increasing number of people in the football family who have passed away within the past two years, as notably, all the former top national coaches have joined their ancestors.
As a follow up to his success as an administrator for Kotoko and GHALCA, the late Major Larson last year authored a book:“Professionalism in Ghana Football: The myth, perception and reality”, to establish his credentials as one of the astute administrators of the game.
His late major assignment in Ghana football was last year when he acted as the Chairman of the Election Committee for the GHALCA elections which brought Cudjoe Fianoo and his team into office.
The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) simply tweeted: “Another sad day in Ghana football. Another great man gone, RIP.”
