Mansour Group announces major investment in new Right to Dream Academy near Accra

The Mansour Group has revealed plans to construct a new modern Right to Dream Academy near Accra, marking a significant new chapter for the renowned football and education institution.

The global business enterprise, which owns the community of football academies, clubs, and full-scholarship schools, confirmed the multi-million-dollar facility would provide enhanced opportunities for Ghanaian youth.

Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2026. During the building phase, Right to Dream will maintain all 127 existing employees in Ghana and honour all student-athlete scholarships at a temporary facility near Accra, with the new academy potentially opening as soon as 2027.

Sir Mohamed Mansour, Chairman of Right to Dream, emphasised the group's enduring commitment to the country, stating, "Ghana for decades has been at the heart of the Mansour Group, and Ghana will always be at the heart of Right to Dream. This is where this opportunity-giving program and model was born, and it has always been our ambition to make sure the talented youth, and all our employees, in Ghana have the facilities and home to match their potential and our common vision." He described the project as "an investment in people and purpose."

The Ghanaian government welcomed the announcement. Kofi Iddie Adams, the Minister for Sports and Recreation, said, "The decision to expand that mission here in Accra and reinforce Ghana’s place as Africa’s hub for football talent, is more than an investment; it is a vote of confidence in our nation’s future."

He added that "Government stands ready to build the enabling environment for such partnerships to grow, ensuring that grassroots talent is discovered early, supported deliberately, and developed into a global export that carries Ghana’s name to the highest levels of the sport."

This new facility will be the third academy built by the group since its 2021 acquisition of Right to Dream, joining new sites in Cairo and San Diego.

The Mansour Group has invested over $180 million in Right to Dream globally in recent years, including substantial expenditure in Ghana, underscoring a long-term commitment estimated at around $600 million in the country over the past decade.
