McDan to construct astro turf for La
The Chief Executive Officer of McDan Shipping Company, Daniel McKorley, has promised to construct an astro turf for the people of La in the Greater Accra Region.

The astro turf, he said, would be constructed on the La Salem Park which had served footballers within the La community.
Mr McKorley made the announcement during the launch of a football tournament organised and sponsored by him at the La Salem Park to promote peace ahead of the December 7 election.
He noted that there was the need for footballers to benefit from the astro turf which would enhance the game in the area.
In an interview with the Daily Graphic, Mr McKorley said “it is important to give back to the society that helped you all your life and I am ready to do that”.
“This is where I come from and I lived here most of my life, so I am promising them an astro turf on this very pitch that I used to play on,” he added.
Mr Robert Coleman, who is expected to coordinate the project, said he was ready to start it immediately after the contract is signed.
He explained that the turf, when completed, would help the people in many ways, especially with the growing interest in football.
