Medeama in battle for survival : Against Young Africans

A battle between two struggling teams of Group A seeking ways to revive their international campaigns, the odds are obviously against Medeama as they play on an unfamiliar terrain in Dar es Salaam.

Medeama are yet to win a match after losing1-3 to T P Mazembe and drawing at home with MO Bejaia.

The Tarkwa-based club disappointed their numerous fans when they blew away all the goal scoring opportunities that came their way leaving themselves in a tight situation with Young Africans.

But Coach Evans Adotey is still optimistic that Medeama have the quality to qualify from the group.

He told the Graphic Sports in an interview on Tuesday that his boys would make a huge impact in their encounter with Young Africans to revive their title ambitions.

“I know we have only a point from the two matches played so far, but remember we have two more home matches to play in addition to the match in Dar Es Salem. I know we will not return to Ghana empty handed in this match, so all is not lost yet” he assured.

He said feverish preparations were underway to map up a strategy to invade Tanzania with a bang to ensure that they appeased their fans with a good result.

Meanwhile, head coach of Medeama Sporting Club Prince Yaw Owusu says he has a deep insight about the play of Young Africans and believes it will help him to develop the needed strategy to win the day.
