Nafui, Yeboah win MTN CEO Golf

Two relatively unknown golfers, Abubakar Nafui and Edith Yeboah, emerged heroes last Saturday when they won the MTN CEO Invitational Golf Tournament at the Damang Golf Club.

Nafui easily won the Men’s Category A with 71 strokes, followed by Charles Amihere who bagged 74 strokes and Foster Korang who also scored 74 strokes.

The game, which is the first in a series by the telecommunication giant, also saw Peter Mensah winning the Category B with 37 strokes. Paul Osei Assibey and Ernest Oboh scored 37 strokes apiece to finish second and third respectively.

The Category C also witnessed a keen competition but in the end it was Mike Hurtubise who grabbed the ultimate prize with 28 points, while Maxwell Osei Bonsu scored 26 strokes to emerge second. G. Asante came third with 25 strokes.

In the Ladies’ Group, Edith Yeboah was adjudged winner with 41 points, followed by Floria Hurtubise with 33 points, while Paulina Acheampong came third with 32 points.

Foster Korang and Floria Hurtubise took the award for nearest to the pin in both male and female categories respectively, while Floria was again awarded for the Ladies’ longest drive, with I. Adams taking the male category prize.

In the professional golfers group, Mr Kojo Barnie was adjudged winner with 70 points, followed by Chichi Jackson with 73 points and George Osei with 76 points.

The Senior Manager at MTN’s Western and Central Business District, Mr Simon Amoh, congratulated the golfers on answering the call to participate in the tournament.
