The president of the club, Botsyo Nkegbe, confirmed to the Graphic Sports on Tuesday that Ghana would finally compete in the qualifiers of the Rio Paralympic Games after Ghana Commercial Bank and Travel Matters came to their rescue with sponsorship packages.

He said the Ghana Commercial Bank had agreed to foot their bills which would cover accommodation and other expenses while Travel Matters was giving them one air ticket.

The competition, to be staged between May 11-15 in the State of Arizona, features Botsyo Nkegbe and Mclean Astu Dzidzienyo, both of Ghana.

“For now we can compete in the Desert Challenge because we have got sponsorship from GCB and Travel Matters, Nkegbe told the Graphic Sports.

The three-time Olympian has called on corporate bodies to come to their aid to help them participate in the qualification and was confident Ghana would pick the ticket to participate at the Paralympic Games.
