NSA pats Kotoko, supporters
The National Sports Authority (NSA) has congratulated Kumasi Asante Kotoko for beating Coton Sports of Cameroon back-to-back in their CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers.
Kotoko made history by landing in the Money Zone of the competition with a 5:3 aggregate on Sunday.
Sunday’s encounter saw a record high fan patronage, also the first of its kind in a long while, and the NSA says the development bodes well for Ghana football and underscores the fact that the national passion for football is very much alive.

It said the feat must be sustained.
“In this regard, the Authority is using this medium to congratulate the teeming supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ghanaian soccer fans who thronged the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in their numbers to support Kotoko. It is hoped that this spectator confidence would be sustained”, said the NSA in a statement signed by the Ag. Public Relations Officer, Mr Charles O. Amofah.
“The Authority also urges the clubs to consider printing enough tickets during matches so as to avoid any shortfalls in the future. Once again, the NSA wishes Kotoko well in their subsequent encounters, as they progress into the next stage of the competition and prays that this feat will go a long way in bringing back the glorious days of Ghana football.”
