Nsoatreman FC eye return to continental glory
Nsoatreman FC, fresh from their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup, are setting their sights on an even more ambitious target this season—a return to continental football.

Despite a challenging start to the new campaign, the club’s management believes that their participation in Africa’s second-tier club competition has bolstered their status as a formidable force in the Ghana Premier League.

Maiden African campaign
According to the club's Brand Manager, Joel Kofi Gyempe, Nsoatreman FC’s maiden journey into the CAF Confederation Cup not only presented unique challenges but also provided invaluable experience that positioned them to challenge for a top-four finish in the ongoing Premier League season.
That, he said, was the springboard to build on their achievements last season, where they finished fifth in the Ghana topflight and clinched the coveted MTN FA Cup.
“Our participation in the African Confederation Cup impacted our transition into the new season. We anticipated financial challenges initially, but thankfully, we received a $50,000 grant from CAF, which barely covered our travel expenses,” Mr Gyempe revealed to the Daily Graphic.
Nsoatreman FC failed to go past the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup after they were eliminated from the competition by Algerian side CR Belouizdad.
He added that the exposure from facing top-tier teams, including CR Belouizdad, had broadened the club’s perspective on modern football management and paved the way for potential international collaborations.

“After our encounter with Belouizdad, we established a strong relationship, and they have expressed interest in two of our players. Though the player transfer window is closed, we will continue to engage with them until it reopens,” he said.
Invaluable experience
Nsoatreman FC’s continental campaign, while short-lived, has evidently left a positive impression, encouraging the club to push for another continental slot.
Mr Gyempe disclosed that the club’s management was in strategic discussions with the technical team to map out transfer targets that would fortify their squad for the current season and beyond.
“Our main objective is to qualify for CAF competitions again. Competing at that level has brought us recognition not just locally but internationally. We aim to leverage this experience to secure a spot in the top four of the Premier League and push for a group stage qualification next time,” he noted.
